Aldi Traveler Usb Microscope Driver
Just bought the usb microscope. A word of caution for anyone else trying to install the CD that comes with the microscope. There's an adware on in and it forces you to install a dupe version of Quicktime and Real Video Player.
Good starter to whet a budding scientists mind before going onto something a bit more serious and therefore more expensive. I'm using Windows 10, and feel the installation software is a little clunky, but if you persevere it will finally stop pestering you for info. Hp 620 graphics driver update. Tried both u-Lead interface and the CamApp which will appear on your desktop, the latter is fine for younger folk with less options to get lost in. Images whilst not super clear are good enough to show the detail you cannot see with the eye alone. All in all value for money. I've had this for two years now and I've seen it pop up at Aldi at least 3 times.

There may be a little plastic plug in the opening that the eyepiece goes into, to keep out dust, and there may be a protective cap on one or both ends of the eyepieces as well. You need to remove these before fitting the eyepiece. The commonest sort of eyepiece measures 1.25 inches in outside diameter, and fits in a tube of the same inside diameter, with a little screw that you tighten by hand to hold it. Jan 04, 2011 .

I remember when I got a microscope for my 12th Birthday, USB's didn't exist back then. You had to draw what you saw, through the lens. But with this microscope you can take photos. With most scientific journal requesting photos of microscopic findings these days, I believe it will be easier for you to get a publication in a reputable journal! As for cost it is only $49. It only goes about to 200X soom but at this price this is pretty good. Also of interest Mini science kit - There is a rocket one whic I believe is great fun and great value.

Hi guys, On Thursday Aldi started selling USB microscopes for $50, and being a gadget whore I grabbed one. I figured you might be interested in seeing how it performs. They do 10x, 60x and 200x magnification, and can illuminate the object on the stage from above, below, or both simultaneously, and overall works well enough. The drivers for it appear to be win32 only, with no win64 driver, and no obvious way to get it working in linux (doesn't appear as a uvc device, or a v4l device).
