I would think 1 bios update to a same version would resolve both issues. But i am basically trying to find a copy of my bios so i can use the award bios editor to unlock its hidden treasures. (not bringing out new bios's) Who would make Bios updates when the manufacturer does no longer exist? There are no updates for your board. As for your worry that an old bios is not as good as a new one. Most of the time a new bios only adds support to a motherboard for newer cpu's.

Looking for your motherboard all I can find are BIOS updates up to. You are already saying, that the manufacturer Epox does no longer exist. They don't make new boards and their support for their boards obviously does not exist anymore.

If the release notes for the bios versions that are newer than the mboard presently has do not mention a problem that is fixed by flashing the bios that is definitely your case, it's extremely unlikely flashing the bios is going to solve your problem(s). Usually a newer bios update includes all the previous fixes, unless there was a problem with something that was changed. In most cases, the only legitimate reason for flashing the bios is if you want to install a cpu in the future that the mboard supports for sure that present bios version does not support recognizing. Retail desktop mboard models generally have a CPU support list on the manufacturer's web site with the minimum bios version required stated on the same line as each cpu.

The thing is that epox does not longer exist and support for my mobo bios/drivers went down the pipes. I got to update my bios to a 2006 version but i would like to have the newest version, cause I think it should work better with win7.maybe i'm wrong, but i don't really think an older version should work better than a new one. Well, i went to phoenix award page and those guys encourage you to install a small scan software, which detects there is an update for my bios, but they charge to provide me with it.
